8 ounces fettuccine or spaghetti

1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined

3 tablespoons olive oil, divided

3 cloves garlic, minced

½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning or dried basil

Salt and black pepper, to taste

¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for serving

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions

Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons olive oil over medium heat. Add shrimp, season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning, and cook until pink, about 2–3 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.

In the same skillet, add remaining olive oil, garlic, and red pepper flakes. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

Toss in the cooked pasta, add shrimp back, and mix well.
