6 medium apples, peeled, cored, and sliced

2 tbsp lemon juice

½ cup granulated sugar

1 tsp ground cinnamon

¼ tsp nutmeg

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup old-fashioned oats

½ cup brown sugar, packed

½ cup granulated sugar

1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed

Pinch of salt
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Toss sliced apples with lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Spread evenly in the dish.

In a bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and salt. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly.

Sprinkle evenly over apples.

Bake 35–40 minutes until topping is golden and apples are bubbling.

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream and caramel drizzle.

Notes
Use Granny Smith apples for tartness or Honeycrisp for a sweeter flavor.
Add a handful of chopped pecans or walnuts for crunch.
To make ahead, assemble the dish and refrigerate unbaked for up to 24 hours.
